We are all cousins!

Dear Friends,

Have you ever wondered who you may be related to? Where your ancestors are from? Well I did! I had my DNA tested a few years ago as did my husband. The results were astounding!

Both of us had always believed we were 100% Italian (although I did wonder about my grandmother as she was not the typical looking southern Italian woman). It turned out that I am a large percentage Italian/Greek and Turkish! I am also a small degree Irish, Eastern European Jewish and Middle-Eastern Moslem.

We tend to view ourselves by who we are told we are ... nationality, gender, profession, culture and many other categories that erect walls between us and the world. Yet, when we look deep enough, even down to our DNA, the walls around us are flimsy. We share our heritage not only with those in countries who science can prove we are related but with the entire world! We are all related to the one true Creator of the Universe! I find that fascinating and so exciting!

So next time someone asks you what your nationality is, you may want to stop for a moment and think. Perhaps the answer is "The world. I am a child of the universe."

Take down all existing barriers, and free yourself of all constraints. It is a step toward enlightenment.
