Take down the barriers to love

Dear Friends,

"Your task is not to seek for love, but rather to remove the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." - - Rumi -

We have all built these barriers, whether big or small, that limit our ability to love. On a psychological basis, we erect them out of fear, or a desire for control. Yet, if we move our attention to our hearts, and speak from the heart, relationships will blossom like a fertile soul. When we take down the barriers, love finds us.

The opposite of love is fear. Fear keeps love from our lives. Fear creates barriers between and among people. There is no joy or fulfillment when we act, or don't act, out of fear. We become insecure. In relationships, we don't have full control and we fear losing a piece of ourselves. We may fear being judged by showing who we truly are.

When we move out of fear, pursue relationships, speak from our hearts and engage people without an agenda, we can create happiness for ourselves and others. When we present our authentic selves in relationships, we open up our souls to our own hearts and self-love. We establish relationships with ourselves and others simultaneously. Joy follows on the heel of this.

Don't be afraid to be you; or to speak your truth in all relationships. Take down the barriers that prevent love in your life and truly live.
