Step out of your comfort zone to help someone!

Dear Friends,

The universe sometimes moves in mysterious ways. Heaven will prompt us, even push us, to reach out to people and show compassion even when we don't consciously know we are doing so.

Below is a great story of how one woman helped another woman she barely knew by randomly giving her a copy of Conversations with Mary.

I love the emotion in the story and am thrilled that Karen listened to the voice in her head and the followed her intuition to do something that is sometimes deemed to be "unconventional" by today's standards.

I hope this story will move you to step out of your comfort zone and follow you heart to help someone even if it is a random act of kindness. Imagine what the world would be like if we all did this.

"Dear Anna,

Several weeks ago, I ordered your book from Amazon for my mom. Without realizing it, I somehow ordered 2 copies. At the time I was bustling around getting prepared for my family to come visit, so I put the extra book in a bag thinking that I'd either keep the copy for myself or perhaps give it to my sister-in-law. A few days or so went by, and one morning as I was dropping my son off at school, I felt especially drawn to one of his teachers. I can't put my finger on it, but I felt her sadness, and it was really weighing on her. I wanted to hug her, but it wasn't really the time (and we don't really have that kind of a relationship,) so I wished everyone a good day and went on my way. Later that night, as I was wrapping some gifts, I felt that I should give the extra copy to Ms. Teri (my son's teacher.) Again, since we don't have a close relationship, I kind of pushed the thought away, thinking that it might seem strange to her. The feeling that I should give the book to her continued to come to me, and to tell you that I was compelled, each time feeling chills, to give her the book would be an understatement. I just could not shake the feeling, so on the morning of the last day before Christmas break, I wrapped the book for Ms. Teri, along with a few other things that I had put together for teachers. When I gave her the book, I made sure that we had some space to chat, and I prefaced the gift with "This might take you by surprise, or seem weird--and I don't even know if you're a spiritual person, but for the past 2 weeks, I have felt compelled to give this to you--as if someone (I feel a woman or women,) around you wants for you to have this." Ms. Teri was speechless. Two weeks prior to this, she had seen a video on Facebook surrounding the topic of death. It really shook her, and she had been deeply struggling with it, along with other aspects of her spirituality ever since. She was very touched at the gesture, and we parted ways happily. At pickup yesterday, she asked me if I had a moment to talk. She shared (through lots of tears) that she began reading Conversations with Mary, and that she could not believe (especially since I really know nothing about her, never mind what she had been recently going through,) how on point it was for her. She shared that enormous personal struggles had been lifted/answered within the first few pages, and that she has been overwhelmed and crying (in a confused, but good way) ever since. She had not been to church in 8 years, and on Christmas Eve, she and her family went together. She is floored by this experience, and frankly so am I!

I want you to know how much you, and your relationship with Mary, are affecting people. You have such a gift, Anna--and I'm so grateful to know you and to have my life touched by you."
